Behind the glowing neon and heavy synth basslines of MTL is a lifelong obsession with 1980s culture. Born at the very tail end of the decade in 1989, I always felt a deep nostalgia for an era I barely missed experiencing firsthand. I started this British retro-wave project as a way to finally step into that world—capturing the pure, cinematic energy of the midnight sports car drives, the flashing arcade screens, and the vibrant coastal aesthetics I grew up idolising.
For me, MTL isn't just about recreating old sounds; it is about building a complete visual and auditory escape. From generating the retro concept art to writing the driving pop hooks and analog melodies, my passion is creating an immersive world for my listeners. Trading modern digital noise for analog fire, this project is a love letter to the cassette-tape generation and everyone who, like me, still dreams in neon.
